UNAIDS describes the HIV/AIDS pandemic as the worst public health disaster in recorded history. Sub-Saharan Africa, an already poverty stricken area, is the worst-hit region in the world. With just over 10% of the world’s population, it is home to more than 60% of all people living with HIV.
