Dr Monique Andersson – Founder
Monique is a medical doctor specialising in virology and genitourinary medicine, with a particular interest in HIV and AIDS. Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, she has seen the devastating impact of the HIV and AIDS pandemic on her native continent. Monique founded iThemba AIDS Foundation as a Christian organisation seeking excellence in integral HIV care and prevention.
Simon Wilsher – Chairman
Simon was born and raised in Zimbabwe. His career started in law, then banking and then change management. He set up The Wilsher Group 12 years ago to specialise in helping fast-changing organisations to transform themselves. He has worked with business leaders from Virgin, Visa and Cambridge University Press. He is also a Governor of a Christian school, Monkton Combe School, a non-Executive of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Trustee of the Innovation Centre for Bath University. Simon acts as Chairman of iThemba AIDS Foundation.
Andrew Davisson – Treasurer
Having graduated with BSc First Class Honours in Statistics from The University of Bath, Andrew started his career with the global investment bank Salomon Brothers. He spent 17 years in the world’s financial markets as a trader and investor and co-founded Strategic Asset Management Ltd, (“SAM”), a Bermuda-based investment management company. In 1995 Andrew left SAM to pursue personal interests. He is the Founder and Chairman of Trust in Christ, a registered charity dedicated to equipping pastors in economically developing countries to build the local church. Andrew is the treasurer of iThemba AIDS Foundation and also serves as treasurer of his local church Holy Trinity Combe Down, Bath. He has been married to Monique since 1994 and they have two daughters.

James Dilworth
James is the President and CEO of Dilworth Capital a Florida-based fund management company. Prior to this, he was the CEO and managing director of the MCP Chess Group Ltd, the holding company managing investments for the Charles Schwab family. Previously, James was the European Director (based in London) of Winter Capital International and started his career with First Options Corporation/ First National Bank of Chicago before moving to Reuters Group where he worked in various senior roles in both London and the United States. James is American and received his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and completed the Masters program at the Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Germany, focusing on international business management. Jim and his wife Margo have four children.
Dr Suzanne Bash
Suzie graduated from the University of Illinois in 1993 with a BS and a Major in Psychology. She went on to graduate with Honors as a James Scholar from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1998. Suzie completed a 4-year Radiology residency program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), following a one-year internship in Internal Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She then completed a 2-year fellowship in Neuroradiology at UCLA in 2004 with additional training in Pediatric Neuroradiology. She is currently the Medical Director of Neuroimaging at Tarzana Advanced Imaging Center in Los Angeles. Suzie has been married to Peter-Brian since 2000 and has two sons, Atticus and Hayden. She is an active member of Calvary Church of the Pacific Palisades.
Dr Elisabeth Ling
Liz is the Field Director for iThemba and oversees all the work on the ground. After studying at London University, Liz worked as a doctor in the Swindon area before moving to South Africa in 2004. Now based in Port Elizabeth, she heads up iThemba’s Africa office. Much of her time is spent travelling, supporting iThemba’s current partners and identifying new churches/organisations to work with. Liz is also studying part-time at Stellenbosch University, in order to understand how iThemba can improve its support of local African churches. While in the UK, Liz was a member of St Ebbe’s Church in Oxford, which continues to support her in her work.
Sarah Smith
Sarah works part-time for iThemba, developing our marketing and web-based activities. After studying International Business with French at Aston University, she worked in Marketing at Bible Society. Sarah has a passion for making a difference through her work and specialises in charity marketing. She is actively involved in her local church and enjoys walking with her husband Matt and spending time with friends.
Wambui Gititu
Wambui is Kenyan and works part-time as Liz’s PA. She is responsible for many of the day-to-day administrative tasks in the office. She studied for her first degree, in Communications, at Daystar University, Nairobi and is now pursuing a Masters Degree in Sociology at the university in Port Elizabeth. As part of her studies she is researching the role of team-building within community-based organisations.
Caroline Lavington
Caroline provides finance and administration support for iThemba. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and friends and playing tennis.
